Pisa is an italian municipality, administrative center of the province.
Among the most important monuments there is the famous piazza del Duomo, known as Piazza dei Miracoli (square of miracles), declared a world mankind heritage, with its Cathedral built in white and coloured marbles, between 1063 and 1118, pisan romanesque style, with the bronze gate of Saint Ranieri by Bonanno Pisano and Giovanni Pisano's pulpit.
Another monument of unique beauty and one of the most famous in the world is the characteristic Leaning Tower, 12th century Bell Tower, 56 meters high, which obtained its grade ten years after the beginning of its construction.
The University of Pisa, Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant'Anna School are three of the most important universities of Italy and Europe.
In Pisa there is also the National Research Council and several research institutes.
Pisa also houses the most important airport in Tuscany, which has national and intercontinental connections, the "Galileo Galilei".
